More than 1,000 staffers at The New York Times are staging a one-day strike today for the first time in more than four decades amid stalled pay and benefits negotiations between the company and The NewsGuild. "We will produce a robust report on Thursday. But it will be harder than usual," Executive Editor Joseph Kahn stated in a staff memo.
