Good evening,
It’s hardly surprising that after all the broken promises of the last days, weeks and months, nearly half of British adults lack confidence that the Government will succeed in levelling up parts of the UK over the next decade.

A new poll. from research agency Public First, says a majority of people think their own area needs levelling up (65%).
Of course the phrase ‘levelling up’ is itself vague with lots of get-out clauses and excuses within the essence of its very wording.
But nobody expects a miracle or everywhere to be like London.
But what we had hoped for here in the north is an improvement of opportunity - something which comes with improved public health, access to transport and investment in infrastructure, a chance to progress in work and pay and a chance to make our way.
We’d like to be able to retain our talented young people by boosting job opportunities and living standards and restoring local pride where it has waned.
Empowering local leaders is all very well but we need help to help our own.

It's hardly surprising, according to the poll, that those who thought the UK Government would succeed in levelling us up live in London.
Have a great Wednesday evening and watch out for the weather, there are high winds and icy blasts on the way.

Regards, Nicola
