On this day in 1966, The Canberra Times reported that Mr John Kerr, QC, was appointed as a judge in the ACT Supreme Court. Prior to his appointment in the ACT, Kerr was a leading barrister in Sydney. Kerr would later become the Governor-General of Australia. READ MORE
