Mariano Rajoy asserts the government strategy to combat corruption is prevention, pursuit, discovery and punishment

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, during the government control session, also expressed his interest in reaching "a broad agreement" to eliminate special privileges. Furthermore, he explained that measures are being taken to reduce waiting times at airports following the EU decision to step up border controls.

Mariano Rajoy highlights strength of Spanish economy in China

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, met in Beijing with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, at the first event on his official visit to the country to take part in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. On his second day in China, the President of the Government of Spain attended the event's inaugural meeting, where participants exchanged opinions on the possibilities of developing the New Silk Road project.

Government invites President of Regional Government of Catalonia to debate his proposed referendum in Lower House of Parliament

The Vice-President of the Government, Soraya Senz de Santamara, pointed out that Parliament is the appropriate venue for "democratic dialogue and debate" on national sovereignty. On another note, the government allocated 415 million euros to highway maintenance and 370 million euros to research projects.
