Kohlberg & Co-backed pharma CDMO expected to take recap bids; check out Infrastructure Investor Deals and PERE Deals

Hello Hubsters!

MK Flynn here in New York with the US edition of the Wire.

Today, we’re featuring a scoop by senior reporter Michael Schoeck about Kohlberg & Company seeking recap bids later in February for a pharmaceutical CDMO in its portfolio. Michael first reported that Kohlberg would seek additional investors for the company back in November. You’ll find all the latest details below.

Also today, we’re showcasing two new deal-focused websites from PEI Group that are sure to appeal to PE Hub’s dealmaking audience.

Major expansion plans

Kohlberg & Company is expected to collect bids at the end of February in a recapitalization process of PCI Pharma Services, a pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization, sources familiar with the matter told PE Hub senior reporter Michael Schoeck.

Upgrade to the premium edition of the Wire to learn all about the scoop.

Since joining PE Hub in 2023, Michael has written dozens of exclusives about companies that confidential sources have told him are coming to market. For example, earlier in January, The Wall Street Journal reported that CohnReznick isin advanced talks to sell a stake to Apax Partners. Michael told PE Hub readers back in October that the accounting firm would review PE investment interest in early 2025.

You’ll find updates on companies coming to market in the US edition of the Wire on Thursdays. Reach out to Michael with tips at [email protected].

I’m excited to recommend that PE Hub readers check out two transaction-focused websites recently launched by PEI Group:

We have a great team in place, led by editor Nathalie Tidman and featuring Catarina Lamelas Moura in NYC and Cristina Brooks and Nadya Oppenheim in London.

Launched last fall, PERE Deals is designed to give investment-focused executives an in-depth view of the market, delivering up-to-the-minute news and thoughtful analysis alongside an integrated database of real estate transactions.

Our two reporters in New York, McKenna Leavens and David Westenhaver, and London correspondent Sarah Marx join editor Guelda Voien in providing global intelligence on where funds are allocating, their speed of deployment and the strategies and asset classes where they are most active.

Amid a tough fundraising environment and political headwinds, private equity’s efforts towards responsible investment have taken a bit of a beating of late, even if LP commitment generally remains solid. The challenges are piling up, however, Private Equity International says in its Responsible Investment report.
