It's Tuesday, May 2, and today's headlines include a CDC report on high school students' sexuality, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. expressing opposition to men competing in women's sports, and PCUSA reporting substantial membership losses in 2022. | One in four high school students in the United States identify as homosexual, bisexual or are questioning their sexuality, per the latest edition of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System. While 74.2% of respondents claimed to be heterosexual, 11.9% identified as bisexual, 3.2% as gay or lesbian and 9% as "other/questioning." Data compiled by Gallup shows that younger generations are more likely to identify as LGBT, with nearly one in five Gen Zers considering themselves part of the LGBT community. By contrast, just 11.3% of millennials identify as members of the LGBT community, followed by 3.3% of members of Generation X, 2.7% of baby boomers and 1.7% of the silent generation.
