Kim Phan is the COO and Co-Founder of RTS, a company with a mission to help creators, brands, and publishers make a long-term impact across gaming. In her role, she leverages her passion and experience across the games industry to oversee the company’s growing business and operations in talent management, brand consulting, event operations, and venture opportunities.
"It would be difficult to break down the integration of esports into mainstream pop culture without including many of the projects driven by Kim Phan, spearheading Blizzard's initial emergence into esports and now driving RTS as a key player moving forward," said Chris Pursell, Chairman of EBS. "An entire generation of fans was molded by legendary BlizzCon tournaments or seeing Heroes of the Dorm on ESPN. We are thrilled to be able to honor Kim for her ongoing impact on this business."
A titan in the esports community, Kim brings more than 13 years of experience working at Blizzard Entertainment. Her previous roles have included production lead on the web & mobile team and engineering manager on the business intelligence & risk team. As the global product director on the Blizzard esports team, Kim developed the vision and strategy for their esports properties and directed company-wide global practices for tournament operations, international compliance, and player-team policies. In 2018 Kim joined 160/90, where she led and managed their growing brand partnerships in the gaming and esports spaces.
Kim’s interest in professional gaming emerged in 2003 when she began shoutcasting competitive matches in Warcraft III. She is a legendary voice, known for commentating some of the biggest Warcraft III events in the world from 2005 – 2010. Kim also managed a popular Warcraft III community fan site and led a North American professional team.
