Don’t have a cow: Dairy farmers help their livestock relieve stress

Do you remember the old dairy ads that said, “Great cheese comes from happy cows?” As it turns out, that statement is totally true. Stressed cows produce lower-quality milk, which leads to weak cheese that lacks texture and flavor. To help keep their dairy cows happy and content, farmers have turned to virtual reality tech with headsets specially designed for cows.

The headsets show calming images of beautiful grass and clear weather while playing relaxing sounds that cows love. And so far, the milk and cheese produced by these VR cows are out-of-this-world. I wonder what would happen if workers in America started using VR on the job. VR therapy isn’t just beneficial for animals. Veterans are also using it for PTSD therapy.
