Message from Mike Norman, CEO |
 |
This week, the Science Center was again filled with the joys and excitement of children bouncing through our hallways and enjoying Summer Camp. We didn’t realize how much we missed the laughter, wonder, and squeals of amazement until the doors opened Monday morning and we saw the eagerness of the campers.
We are pleased to see our diligence in preparing for a healthy camp opening and educational curriculum is benefiting families and children who are looking for a little sense of normalcy and interaction in a safe environment. I’m proud of our team for crossing every “t” and dotting every “i" to keep everyone healthy and happy.
We have done so well with this first week of camps that we are going to be able to reopen for members July 4th weekend, and to the general public on July 11.
|
 | For now, the building will only be open for admission on Saturdays and Sundays, which allows us to maintain the building for our Summer Camp experience Monday-Friday. Advanced tickets will be required, even for members, as our capacity is limited. We will announce more details about the opening of the ticketing process soon.
We are also extending all memberships for the duration of time we were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our members will receive a separate communication about their new expiration dates very soon. |
 |
We will continue to follow protocols for a healthy opening throughout the year. This members-only weekend is a way to thank our members for your continued support over the past four months. We look forward to seeing you in camps and Fourth of July weekend!

School's Out Science Camp |
 |
 | Kentucky Science Center School’s Out Science Camps are up and running!
A welcomed scene started Monday morning, as campers returned to the building for the first time since mid-March. Our summer camp is following guidelines from state and local officials, while providing the transition our campers need. The science is still there, with just a little more space between the bowls of slime.
Next week, we will explore LEGOs and Pokemon in camps for 2nd through 4th grades. Some camps are beginning to sell out and we cannot add more space, so register soon to join the fun and make the most of this summer! |

We Need Your Support! |

Please consider making a donation to Kentucky Science Center. Donations to the Annual Fund for Science are used to Do Science throughout the Commonwealth. Last year, we were able to impact people in every county of Kentucky and 92% of Indiana with outreach programs like Science in Play2Go, Assembly programs in Schools, and Pulse of Surgery.
Your tax-deductible gift allows us to fulfill our mission of encouraging people of all ages to 'Do Science' in ways that are engaging, educational, and entertaining to inspire a lifetime of learning. |
