Kennedy, Cassidy to vote 'no' on Jackson nomination. Also, the Saints make some moves.

By Chad Calder | Staff writer

Naysayers: A "no" vote from Sen. John Kennedy was never in doubt, but any thought that Sen. Bill Cassidy might vote to confirm U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson perished Monday. Jackson is still expected to be confirmed along a mostly party-line vote.

Saints making moves: The Saints have picked up a couple of defensive players in free agency, one from the Bucs and another from the Steelers. They also put together a complex trade for draft pics with the Eagles, and Amie Just can tell you what they might do with it.

Sticking with Wellpath: The Cantrell administration has decided to stick with the firm that has been providing health care at the city jail despite complaints about quality of care it has provided. Reporter Matt Sledge explains why the city decided to renew its relationship with Wellpath over a competing proposal from LSU Health.

(Not as) bad weather: Things may get a little hairy starting this morning, weather-wise, but it shouldn't be as bad as the last couple of weeks. Stay with NOLA.com for the latest.
