With Luke Johnson Juwan Johnson had a pretty good little Sunday in Jacksonville. The former New Orleans Saints wide receiver/current New Orleans Saints tight end broke out in a big way against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, hauling in a pair of touchdown passes (the first of his career) while also converting a couple crucial fourth downs. Not a bad day at the office for a guy who, at this time a year ago, was struggling with the fact that he felt powerless watching from the sidelines as a practice squad wide receiver. Maybe you missed it last month, but we chronicled Johnson's journey from wide receiver to tight end with the Saints organization, a process that was pushed along by Johnson's admitted love of his wife's cuisine. Clearly the Saints were on to something. He's big and he's fast and he's playing unburdened football because he knows the Saints have faith in him. It's a long season, but he is off to a really good start — good enough for his teammate to call him "Baby Megatron," an allusion to Hall of Fame receiver Calvin Johnson's nickname. If you thought Monday would be a day reserved for the Saints to bask in the glory of their blowout win against the Green Bay Packers, think again. New Orleans was busy working out some potential new additions in the receiving corps, and a few names might ring a bell. They also officially added cornerback Bradley Roby to the roster after acquiring him in a trade last week — a move that could be especially important given the uncertainty regarding new $97.6-million-dollar-man Marshon Lattimore. It wasn't all good news for the Saints Monday. Fresh off his superb game against the Packers, defensive end Marcus Davenport could be required to miss some time with a pectoral injury. But even the bad news didn't seem as bad, as Davenport is believed to have avoided a serious injury that would end his season. Tons of stuff to get to this morning, and we'll do our best to continue keeping y'all in the loop as the Saints remain in Fort Worth this week to prepare for the Panthers in Week 2.
