With more than 2,200 albums to his credit, he has recorded with greats including Tommy Flanagan, Gil Evans, Lena Horne, Bill Evans, B.B. King, the Kronos Quartet, Dexter Gordon, Wes Montgomery, Bobby Timmons, Jaki Byard, Eric Dolphy, and Cannonball Adderley, in addition to performing in Miles Davis’ seminal and acclaimed Second Great Quintet from 1963 to 1968. An NEA Jazz Master since 1998, Ron Carter now brings his lifetime’s experience of nonpareil musicianship to Dazzle for the very first time. |

A classical guitar virtuoso from South Africa, Gripper was inspired by the recordings of legendary Malian kora player Toumani Diabaté to painstakingly adapt the music of the 21-string kora onto his own 6-string guitar. The results are intimate and breathtaking, bringing a wealth of critical acclaim to Gripper and leading the guitar into an uncharted musical realm that must be truly heard to be believed. |

Brought to Dazzle in partnership with the Imagine 2020 Cultural Fund, this Blues Behind Bars showcase will tell stories you won’t hear anywhere else. |
