| | | | Celebrating Christ and His Faithfulness in 2016 | Christmas Joy!!! | As we enter the Christmas season, I’ve been recently reminded of the words the angels announced to the shepherds in Luke 2, “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” In a world filled with so much brokenness, suffering, and sadness God announces that the coming of Christ is good news of great joy for everyone. The happy God has sent forth his Son to reverse the curse. Read More Here... | |
| | Our Teens Making a Difference for Others | Operation Christmas Child | On Thursday, November 17th, the students at the Joy House Academy enjoyed the unique opportunity to combine Thanksgiving and Christmas by helping prepare Operation Christmas Child boxes for shipping. Working under the supervision of Wanda Payne at Cornerstone Church, a collection center, the students managed to help prepare approximately 790 boxes for shipping in only 2 hours! To celebrate completing the job, each student shared one thing he liked about each other student. Then, we had pizza! It was a blessed day and truly something to be thankful for. | |
| | Counseling Center Year-End Review – Garry & Bill | Record Year | It’s that time again. It is that time of the year when we begin to look back and reflect on the events, the struggles, and the triumphs of another 12 months gone by. It is also that time of year when attention is turned toward the miraculous incarnation of Christ into this world. Centuries after that event (known to us today as Christmas) we are still utterly amazed that the Son of God became flesh and dwelt among people who beheld His glory. The themes of reflection on the past and the miracle of the incarnation perfectly blend into a mosaic of beauty and wonder as we (Garry and Bill) look back at 2016. Read More Here... | |

| | Foundation for Hospital Art Partners with Joy House | Brightening It Up!! | On October 17, the folks from the Foundation for Hospital Art gave our Joy House Academy students the opportunity to create something beautiful for their classroom. John Feight, the founder, and his group provided paint along with pre-drawn canvases and then supervised the students as they painted. The Foundation group then took the paintings for touch-ups and recently returned them and hung them in our school! The environment has been brightened up so cheerfully by work the students created themselves. We thank the Foundation for Hospital Art for their generous contribution to broadening our horizons and cheering up our day-to-day tasks. | |
