I am quite privelaged to live here. I try to convey that feeling through photodocumentation. By intentionally limiting my equipment, I put into practice, and emphasize, geometry and deliberate timing in my photography. Most of my photos are unretouched. Some others I've tweaked very slightly, and typically only to compensate for atmospheric effects or to delete that pesky insect that's been flying around! Also, having one nearly-blind eye since birth has possibly been a boon to my photography: I frequently receive comments referring to a strong sense of depth in my images. Never having had stereoscopic vision, extracting depth from two-dimensional images would seem to come naturally to me. In other words, with precious little exception, you see what I saw while taking the picture. My somewhat different tack in my approach to photography was ensured by my educational background in the interpretation of aerial photography and satellite imagery. Utah's landscapes and viewpoints allow for endless inspiration and photographic honesty. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cartographer, artist, alpinist, and master of semicoherence, Joey Favino's personality shines through his odd take on photography. Having lived in places as varied as Idaho, Maui, and the Hudson Highlands (with easy access to The Gunks), and having stayed with friends as far away as Kazakhstan and The Cape of Good Hope, he now thrives in Cedar City, Utah, U.S.A. The fifty-something-year-old sums it up succinctly: "Geography is destiny". Learn More About Joseph Favino FASO Loves Albert Handell’s pastel paintings!
