Joint Employer Rule Announced

The Department recently updated the regulations interpreting joint employer status under the Fair Labor Standards Act. U.S. Secretary of Labor Eugene Scalia co-authored an op-ed on the new rule with Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney.

Prior to the final passage of USMCA, Secretary Scalia highlighted workforce development during a visit to northeast Pennsylvania, where he toured a manufacturing facility and led a roundtable discussion with local business leaders. He discussed Administration worker training initiatives and the positive impact of the USMCA on the region's economy.

More Job Openings than Job Seekers for 21 Months

There were 1 million more job openings than job seekers in November, making it the 21st consecutive month that there were more openings than job seekers according to data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
