12 P.M. E.T. Reporting from the inside out The pandemic raised tensions between ultra-Orthodox communities and governments in both the United States and Israel. Hear from a new breed of ultra-Orthodox journalists covering this crisis, and facing the challenge of reporting with both independence and attachment to a media-shy society.
Jacob Kornbluh, Forward senior political reporter, will be joining this panel discussion hosted by The Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies at Columbia University.
SUNDAY APR 11
11 A.M. E.T. A conversation with Mohammed Darawshe Mohammad Darawshe is a Palestinian citizen with an Israeli passport and describes himself as a “child of both identities.” He has distinguished himself as a leader amongst Israeli Arabs, a news analyst for Arabs about Israeli political and social trends, and an internationally respected advocate for unexpected and hopeful ways of envisioning the Middle East’s future.
Jodi Rudoren, our editor-in-chief, will interview Mohammad, focusing on his vision of Arab-Israeli relations.
This talk is in partnership with Temple Ner Tamid of Bloomfield, NJ.

8 P.M. E.T. Race and Responsibility: A conversation on Black-Jewish relations The Forward is excited to sponsor this conversation with experts on historical and current Black and Jewish relations Eric K. Ward, Michael Rothberg, and Tina Sacks.
The experts will tackle questions including: How are the historical experiences of the Black and Jewish communities at once distinct and interconnected? Should we see efforts to combat racism and antisemitism as separate struggles? What are African Americans’ and Jews’ responsibilities to one another in America’s current racial reckoning?
THURSDAY APR 15

Join the final conversation with Rabbi Angela Buchdahl, senior senior rabbi of Central Synagogue in New York City and Rabbi Benay Lappe, founder and rosh yeshiva of SVARA and senior fellow at the Institute for the Next Jewish Future in Chicago.
