Hiya, I’m Dieter Bohn, one of the original founders of The Verge. That was 10 years ago (O_o), so we’re throwing a big party to celebrate. It’s called On The Verge, and it’s happening in New York City on October 22nd and 23rd. In person. We’re excited.
You’re of course invited, and we hope you can make it. There’s a promo code, $99NOW, to get your two-day ticket for just $99. (Check out the website here to buy tickets.) What’s happening at this party? WELL! We’ll have the world premiere of our new documentary, Springboard, which is all about the nearly forgotten history of the best smartphone before the iPhone. Ricky Desktop will show us how he went from making viral TikTok beats to breaking through in the music industry. We’ll talk to Eero CEO Nick Weaver, Clubhouse’s head of global marketing Maya Watson and CEO Paul Davison, and Snap SVP of content and partnerships Ben Schwerin. iFixit will tear down a Nintendo Switch. The Verge alumni will return for a live Vergecast taping. There will be an indie games arcade and a live performance from The Stickmen Project. We might also figure out what the heck the metaverse is.
And much more. We have a health and safety FAQ that details the precautions we’re taking and the requirements for all attendees, and there will be a rooftop space to hang out in as well.
We really hope you can make it. Our Giffinator (hard G, not sorry) is ready and waiting to turn us all into memes. Check out the event website to learn more and buy tickets. And don’t forget to enter promo code $99NOW to get tickets for just $99! |
