Students Keep Active at Home by
Advocating for the Environment!

Dear Grades of Green Family,

We hope you're healthy and staying safe! We're writing to update you on the status of our programs and share some fun ways to keep the young people in your life busy at home by advocating for our environment.

In difficult times like these, it's so important to keep focused on the things that are important to us - our families, our community and our environment. Because, as one of our student Eco-Leaders told us last week...

"The world is still going on even with this shelter in place put into our lives. I think we still need to keep going with our efforts for the environment just because once this is over, the environment is still here and we still need to take care of it. We still need to look after it." - Kweeny J.

Our spirits are always lifted by the passion of our amazing students and we hope yours will be too!

Kim Siehl,

Executive Director

2020 Waste Campaign Updates

With the coronavirus closing schools and canceling events, our student teams have proven just how dedicated they are by continuing to work on their Campaign projects. Our Program Advisors are in close contact with their student teams and are helping them navigate the inevitable impact this situation has made on their projects. We have extended the deadline for the 2020 Waste Campaign to May 15.

We continue to work with our honorees, venue and vendors on setting a new date for Verte 2020 and can promise that this will be the best Verte ever! That said, Verte is responsible for raising 1/3 of Grades of Green's annual budget, so if you are able, please consider donating today to help us bridge the funding gap until Verte is held in the fall.
