John Lewis to shut one of its three Scottish stores

John Lewis is to close one if it's Scottish department stores dealing a major blow to the retail sector and economy.

The large site is one of three department stores that the partnership runs in Scotland. It has 265 “partners” working there.

Bomb alert at Holyroodhouse

Police have arrested a man after a bomb disposal team attended a report of a suspicious item in the grounds of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official residence in Edinburgh.

“Following examination by explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), it was made safe."
