Biography
As an artist and a pastor, Jeffery Sparks is by nature thoughtful and observant of the many and varied environments in which our lives are lived before our Heavenly Father. The way we perceive our visual environment describes something more than our physical vision can show, it includes how we feel about an environment at a particular moment (emotion), our level of understanding, and even the history of how others interacted with the environment before us. For this reason, Jeffery paints not only what he sees but also what he attempts to see and create for others an exploration of that, a sort of unveiling of beauty and truth. Creating fine art is certainly not less than an artist's attempt to reveal something true and beautiful, yet it is more, a way to create meaningful connections that others may experience and explore as well. For this reason, Jeffery finds his expression of fine art along the lines of broken brushwork, assembled forms, subtle abstracting of shapes, and other imperfections that will hopefully leave room for thoughtful participation of a viewer.
