Receiving input: Jefferson Parish government wants to “re-imagine” some of its playgrounds, and has targeted a handful where its says youth participation has declined over the years. Parish President Cynthia Lee Sheng and other officials are holding a series of community meetings to gather input. They got an earful Wednesday night.
Blame game: It would be an understatement to say the Saints have gotten off to a slow start. They’re a less-than-robust 1-3. So who’s to blame? Players? Coaches? Seeking a pledge: On the north shore, an influential business group commissioned a study that looked at the dipping performance of St. Tammany Parish’s public school system, along with those in Tangipahoa and Washington parishes. Ahead of the Nov. 8 election, the Northshore Business Council has also asked St. Tammany School Board candidates if they’re willing to pledge to make changes.
A Laissez Boys second line: We’ve all been in wedding-day second lines, you know those sometimes-impromptu-sometimes-not hanky-waving lines snaking through the reception hall. Fun stuff. But as Doug MacCash tells us today, the second line at the recent Miller wedding brought the tradition to a new level.
