Landry takes aim at post-conviction plea deals: The Louisiana Supreme Court will soon hear Attorney General Jeff Landry's challenge to a law that authorizes judges to endorse pleas deals for inmates after their convictions. The law was written by prosecutors and passed in 2021 without opposition, but Landry now says it effectively usurps the governor’s clemency powers. John Simerman has the story. Sequestered no more?
