A wonderful evening from a rainy and cold Crete, a lot of computer programmers already have access to the O'Reilly Learning Platform, either through their employer or because they want access to all their amazing reference books. But did you know that O'Reilly also host live events?
The topics range from salary negotiation, to architecture, to software design, to AI, and of course, a bit of Java. The instructors are some of the finest in the Java world, with names such as Ken Kousen, Paul Deitel, Kirk Pepperdine, Simon Roberts, Henri Tremblay, Ben Evans, and Cay Horstmann. The cream really does rise to the top. However, of the 330+ currently scheduled live events, only 9 are in the Java category. Generative AI (*yawn*) FTW. It is becoming hard to find interesting technical events to attend. Why? It takes effort to find the good courses. And if not enough eyes watch (either live or the recording), the courses get retired. And then they are no more. Gone. We have been thinking about this quite a bit. At the moment, the interesting courses are hard to find. To make it easier, I have started a very specific mailing list for those who want to know about live Java events on the O'Reilly Learning Platform. They will list all the recommended live events that we think will be of benefit to you. It will arrive in your mailbox once a month, and make the process of signing up super easy. We will also explain in a few sentences why these courses will be interesting. For example, you might wonder what significance the number 0x61c88647 has? Well, I'm talking about that tomorrow in my Data Structures Course. I want to change Set.copyOf() to reduce the possibility of a O(n^2) performance degradation. More tomorrow ... :-) If you are currently signed up for the O'Reilly Learning Platform, please join our new email list by confirming your details here. You will get a monthly email pointing you directly to the interesting live events. You will also get a chance to influence what topics we teach about, plus the times that would work best for you.
