| rantnrave:// I love this so, so much... In the '70s, TV mini-series were a thing. I love them. And I love them on OTT services like NETFLIX and ACORN TV. Easy to digest. 3-6 episodes. 1-2 hours each. And often multiple seasons. Many come out of the UK. They are great at this. From HOUSE OF CARDS (the original) to ZEN to STATE OF PLAY to FOYLE'S WAR to WORRICKER to THE NIGHT MANAGER. I'm not sure what the economics are. But I'd like to see a lot more... Loving the dark and dystopian THE HANDMAID'S TALE on HULU. I'm biased as it's an MGM production (disclosure: I sit on the board). The darkness and dystopia may have seen far away when the book came about. Doesn't seem so far now. Repression, sexism, prejudice, rights, freedom. All there. Was surprised that Hulu isn't doing binge viewing. One per week. I dig it. While I binged the first 4 as I was late to the game. I like the wait and the timed watercooler talk... Can BONO save BONNAROO? Can LADY GAGA really replace BEYONCÉ? Are all festivals the same? What is ARCTANGENT? A look at the history and the ever-expanding landscape of the summer festival in MusicSET: "The State of the Summer Music Festival"... Many thanks to APPLE for hearing my customer service issues and fixing them... ELVIS' core fans are dying. That affects licensing revenue and memorabilia. His likeness has been managed well. How will The King's popularity stay strong in the future? How will those that manage the brand use social media and technology to flourish with new generations?... Fantastic promo from PANDORA... What does SINCLAIR-TRIBUNE deal mean for local political coverage? Hoping BRIAN STELTER dives in on RELIABLE SOURCES... Yep. GEKKO was amazing to watch and listen to. THE JOKER is more fun than BATMAN. TONY SOPRANO was electric. None of them should be POTUS... SALLY YATES schooling. And this... How is instant articles not a publisher revenue killer?... I wish I had a TAYLOR MASON at REDEF... Happy Birthday to BERT DWECK, ART CHANG, BILL FRESTON, MIKE HUDACK, and MIKE EHRLICH. | | - Jason Hirschhorn, curator |
