To create something from nothing is one of the greatest feelings, and I would - I don't know, I wish it upon everybody. It's heaven. | | Dudley Moore in classic, hilarious scene from Foul Play. 1978. | rantnrave:// Commence geeky sci-fi interfaces timesuck... Amid reports of workplace misogyny, accusations of stolen technology, an ongoing executive exodus and widespread customer backlash, is Silicon Valley's "Bro Culture" destroying one of its most promising startups? TechSET: "Uber's Road to Hell"... Healthcare bill may be the GOP version of THE PURGE. Poor sick people get killed but every day. Get the sense that TRUMP knows almost nothing about these actions, bills, acts. Or the consequences. Just about winning and photo ops?... As you know I've been an APPLE fan my entire tech life. Lately, pretty frustrated and feel like our loyalty is taken for granted. The hardware is still the best looking. The software and services, not so great. Newer versions are not leaps anymore. iTUNES is dinosaur-like and the streaming response of APPLE TV needs a big improvement. Not to mention the constant login issues. Don't get me started on the TOUCH BAR which interrupts almost every action like sending a message or email. Poorly placed. Can't be turned off. Customer service is also important to me. This week I made a GENIUS BAR appointment to service my new MACBOOK PRO. The screen just stopped working. After waiting 20 minutes or so, I got a nice guy. He diagnosed. Said it was covered by warranty and they will ship it back to me in 5 days. Great. Get an email yesterday from APPLE saying service is on hold until I approve a repair cost of $600+. So I get customer service on chat. I explain the entire scenario. After a while, they transfer me to a senior advisor. He says he can't help me unless I want to pay and my only recourse is to go back to the store or call them. I'm 90 minutes into my life on this stuff. A snippet of what advisor said: "Now I did have the chance to review the repair notes on my side, since the Apple store did note that the repair for a hairline crack would be covered that can be disputed, however since the store set up the repair, you would need to reach out to them, because that exception is filed under them... No, since we’re not the repair warehouse, from our side we didn’t reject the repair ourselves. Which is why the location who did set up the repair does need to contact them." Huh? So why the f*** am I talking to you? Why did you email me? Just for payment? I just want my $4k laptop fixed like was promised. Now this harms Apple's brand in my mind. An "infinite loop" of little help and no accountability. More time for me. Let me finish by saying this: I own 3 IPADS. 2 IPHONES. 2 MACBOOK PROS. 2 MACBOOKS. 5 APPLE TVS. 1 APPLE WATCH. 1 AIRPODS. 2 BEATS WIRELESS. An untold number of accessories. So, Apple if you're listening. Call me. You didn't remove me from the plane. But you're eating into my hours. Small modern problems. Love ya...
