Saints quarterback Jameis Winston has not played in an NFL game of any kind since he shredded his left knee against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last Halloween. He desperately wants to play Friday night in the Saints' final exhibition game against the Los Angeles Chargers. But it's not his call. And head coach Dennis Allen isn't tipping his hand. Beat reporter Terrin Waack has the story on Allen's conundrum: To play or not to play his star QB.

The Saints held another spirited practice on Wednesday at the team's indoor training facility and it was another good day for Winston and backup quarterback Andy Dalton, Saints beat reporter Luke Johnson observes.
