ITVT is pleased to present another episode of Televisionation(R): Breakthrough, our podcast focusing on innovation of all kinds in the TV industry.
Philo T. Farnsworth working with an early TV camera he invented.
This episode features documentary filmmaker, Phil Savenick, and supervising producer, Kevin Lee Miller, of TV Is OK Productions, who join us to celebrate the 96th anniversary (September 7th) of the invention of electronic television by Philo Farnsworth, who first conceived of the new medium when he was just 14 years old.
Among other things, they discuss “Fire of Genius,” a new, 8-part mini-series on Farnsworth for which they are currently seeking a distributor; as well as Savenick’s experience meeting Farnsworth’s wife (and the first person to ever appear on television), Pem, back in 2003. In addition, Savenick gives us a tour of some of the “holy relics” he acquired from the Farnsworth family.
