The home of contemporary craft and creative courses on Brighton Beach.
Last chance to visit! The OPEN at Atelier closes this Sunday We are going to miss being surrounded by this riot of creativity, but our epic show OPEN at Ateliermust come down this Sunday at 5pm. As well as paintings, prints and collages, we've got some brilliant textiles, sculpture and ceramics too. All the way from Bucharest, we have a number of pieces by Sandra Berghianu, including this Hiccup pink vase. Wheel-thrown from stoneware clay, cut and assembled into quirky organic shapes, and glazed in striking finishes, these sculptural vases are real statement pieces. And we just love these Terracotta Pobbles by Polgray Clay. Just 9cm tall and made with stoneware clay, sea brick pebbles and other beach-combed treasures, we've got a host of characters for you to meet. Come and see all 280 pieces in the OPEN at Atelier while you still can. The gallery is open 11am-5pm daily. |

Only in store Some of the items we stock are only ever available in the gallery itself, giving you all the more reason to come and pay us a visit! For example, these Positive Pebbles by Bekky May are an original and affordable way to send a little lift to a loved one. Just £5 each and small enough to hold in the palm of your hand, pop one in the post and let them know they're in your thoughts. Another new make in the shop right now are these unique Fair Isle berets, hand-knitted by Shirley Greenhalgh. Each is a total one-off, made from 100% woolen yarn in a colour combination never to be repeated, drawn from Shirley's lifetime of knitting projects and oddments found along the way. Shirley learned to knit complex patterns from her Flemish mother and English father, who had himself learned to knit while working on a farm as a boy. Available in the gallery only for the time being, be quick if one catches your eye. These patterns have a strictly limited edition of just one! |
