Excellence in Jewelry Artistry Award Winner

Adrienne Gaskell

Our 2019 Excellence in Jewelry Artistry award winner is Adrienne Gaskell. Year after year, Adrienne’s Master Class on the ancient Japanese art of kumihimo is among our most popular. Adrienne teaches kumihimo all over the country and internationally, and her students follow wherever she goes. She is constantly looking for venues to bring kumihimo to a wider audience and techniques to make braiding more enjoyable.

Meet Betsy Lehndorff and Phyllis Flora

A silversmith since 2008, Betsy Lehndorff is known for her enthusiasm and improvisation on the spot and helps her students to create pearl pieces that have a fine-jewelry look. She's also a highly-rated instructor who encourages students to work past the all-thumbs stage everyone goes through.

Phyllis Flora has been beading since 2000 and is primarily self-taught. Phyllis delights when students run with the techniques they learn in class and go on to develop their own designs and techniques.
