Your Tuesday evening update from the Lancashire Post
View email online | | | | | Nov 2, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, It never rains, but it pours...or so it has seemed over the past week. Just when it appeared that the heavy showers had finally stopped, the downpours began all over again. That’s bad enough for those of us with a dog to walk or a child to get to school, but spare a thought for the many people across Lancashire who constantly live with the threat of this flood water invading their homes. It is ironic that in the week when the great and good are discussing climate change, we again see people’s homes and gardens flooded and roads closed because of the rising waters. Thankfully, in recent years, much has been done by United Utilities and others to stop the heartbreaking effects of flooding. But that still does not stop the fear that it all may happen again. While the planet continues to warm, it is likely that we will get more freak weather, from storms and hurricanes to devastating flooding. Today, the sun has come out. Let’s hope that's a metaphor for the progress being made in Glasgow... Until next time, take care, Gillian Contact me at [email protected] | |
