Your Wednesday evening update from the Lancashire Post
View email online | | | | | Dec 8, 2021 | | | | | | Good evening, Most of us will know someone who hasn’t always played by the rules when it comes to Covid restrictions. During the first lockdown there were many stories of people at house parties and young folk at raves, some of whom were caught and fined. Last Christmas, when we were all locked down again, some people rebelled and did meet up with family and friends on the day itself. However, for everyone who broke the rules there were thousands who did not. They stuck rigidly to what the Government dictated because they wanted to keep their nearest and dearest healthy and did not want to cause the NHS to tip over. Now we learn that in 10 Downing Street, a party took place while the rest of us were cancelling not just parties and meetings but also being kept away from the hospital beds of our loved ones. There have been claims this week that there is one rule for us and a different rule for Downing Street. But the real issue is that this behaviour may encourage others to ignore restrictions. And that could lead to the tragedy of more deaths. Until next time, take care, Gillian Contact me at [email protected] Want to see fewer ads?
