State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman warned that the lack of long-term planning by the government is harming Israel's economy. This issue is compounded by the impacts of the Israel-Hamas war, which has caused substantial disruptions to the labor market.

The war has led to a massive reserve duty call-up, forcing many workers out of their jobs. Tens of thousands of evacuees from the north and south have lost their homes and workplaces, facing an uncertain future. Additionally, the war has exacerbated existing labor shortages, with Palestinian workers being unable to work in Israel and foreign workers leaving, further straining the economy.
