The Government has recently announced an initiative called âHelp to Grow Digitalâ, which will help small and medium sized businesses to grow, using digital platforms. This could be a great opportunity for Thomas Westcottâs SME clients. Growing numbers of businesses we support are experiencing the benefits of moving to cloud-based, digital systems and Help to Grow Digital could make this technology accessible to many more. Breaking down barriers This assistance comes as a positive step. Not only does it show that the Government recognises the potential for digital technology to benefit businesses, it also makes this technology more accessible to businesses of all sizes. The initiative removes the cost of investing in new technology, which is a barrier for a lot of smaller businesses. How does Help to Grow Digital work? Under the scheme, eligible businesses can receive discounts of up to £5,000 off the retail price of approved digital accounting and CRM software from leading technology suppliers. This software will help businesses to effectively manage their finances and build customer relationships, ultimately levelling up the way businesses are run and helping them to scale up. Is my business eligible? To be eligible for Help to Grow Digital, a business must: Be based in the UK and registered with Companies House or be a registered society on the Financial Conduct Authorities Mutuals Register. Employ between five and 249 people. Have been actively trading for over 12 months and have an incorporation date of at least 365 days prior to application. Be purchasing the approved software for the first time.
