Good morning. Here are some of our top headlines. Classic New Orleans: New Orleans’ premier road race is this morning. Perhaps you’re one of the thousands of runners and walkers taking part? Columnist Jeff Duncan says the Crescent City Classic is on the upswing, after pulling itself from a post-pandemic funk. Oh, and be mindful of the road closures the race prompts. Too big? With a successful Carnival 2024 in the books, krewe captains meeting this week turned their attention to next year. And this question emerged: Is Mardi Gras getting too big? Hmmm… Doug MacCash has the story. Tracking trains in Jefferson Parish: It’s been a success at the oh-so-aggravating Metairie Road railroad crossing, so now Jefferson Parish officials will expand a train-tracking app to another busy crossing. Marie Fazio has the details. Farewell Jimmy? Saints tight end Jimmy Graham hasn’t outlined his playing plans for next season. But Graham, long a fan fave, hit Instagram to thanks the fans and Saints for the love they’ve shown him, Luke Johnson reports. Slidell’s super volunteer: Andy Frisard says he doesn’t sleep much at night. Good thing, because he’s got a lot of irons in the volunteer work fire.
