Hi Achternaam, On Simply Canning, I always emphasize canning safety, current methods and practices for home canning. Sometimes that gets me in a position to not agree with the “old” ways. Sometimes people accuse me of overkill. I want to emphasize that there is a lot of wisdom in SOME of the old ways…I’m not saying your grandmother or aunt or whomever was dumb.
