Is GAP Insurance
a Growing Business?

Since today's cars are essentially "computers on wheels," dealers are doing their customers a disservice if they don't alert them to the availability of GAP insurance. So says George Glassman, whose Southfield, MI, dealership group represents Hyundai, Kia and Subaru.

“GAP is a critical component of any (vehicle) purchase,” says Glassman, “Cars don’t typically go up in value; they never do.”

Glassman was featured recently on an Autoline Spotlight program hosted by John McElroy, alongside Ally Insurance President Doug Timmerman and WardsAuto’s Steve Finlay.

Offering GAP “isn’t a sales tactic,” he says. “It is critical customers understand it and take advantage of that coverage.”
