Louisiana crab has shot up to $70 a pound, for various reasons, making it two or three times the usual price. "We were thinking about doing a seafood gumbo, but that was totally out of our budget," a Lafayette shopper told The Advocate's Mega Wyatt in a phone interview. "And people are commenting that they're still buying it. I was really shocked to see that. That's a $100 gumbo."

Holy cow!

A cow was spotted running around LSU's campus Saturday afternoon. School officials told us the wandering bovine escaped from a 4H show taking place at the nearby Parker Coliseum.

'His will is valid'

Former Gov. Edwin Edwards, who died at 93 in July, left all of his assets to his 8-year-old son. While the boy's mother says her late husband's “will is valid," two of the governor's older children question its legitimacy. Tyler Bridges and Mark Ballard have the story.
