🖼️ The photo above was taken yesterday at a private media reception at the Getty Center in Los Angeles. It was hosted by Discover Los Angeles for U.S. Travel's IPW. IPW stands for International Pow Wow and it's the largest international travel show in the United States. There are over 5,700 delegates from nearly 70 countries "to drive future inbound travel business and secure the United States' position as the foremost global travel destination." Each year, the host city of IPW rolls out the red carpet and this year is no different. Did you know? The Getty has 1.2 million square feet of Italian travertine. The travertine is an estimated 8,000 to 80,000 years old and comes from a quarry in Bagni di Tivoli, Italy.

Not again: American cruise passenger faces 12 years in prison for having stray bullets in bag
After reading the headline, you may be wondering if this is the same story I wrote last week about a man who was arrested at the Turks and Caicos airport, on his way home to Oklahoma, for having four stray bullets in his bag. Unfortunately, this is a new story and what might seem obvious to most is not to everyone. There's a valuable takeaway from today's story.

But I also downloaded this app as a back-up.

The hotel pet peeve we can all relate to after 45
Let’s just say I have a long list of travel-related pet peeves but I can narrow my hotel-related pet peeves down to a short list, which include guests talking way too loud in the hallway late at night and those (oftentimes blinking) lights from smoke detectors, air conditioning units and/or TVs.
