This supporter event will give you the opportunity to hear from UNHCR staff on the ground in Afghanistan. We will also be joined by Lala Pordeli, an Afghan refugee, lawyer and activist, now living in Australia, who will speak about the situation for Afghans.
With evacuation flights ending, the needs remain enormous, with half the population requiring humanitarian assistance. Priority needs are shelter, non-food items, livelihoods and cash assistance. UNHCR currently has access to all 34 provinces in Afghanistan and is also preparing for potential future large scale movement to neighbouring countries.
