International Athletes Forum in Lausanne - 13 to 15 April 2019 - information for the media Organised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes’ Commission (AC), the 9th International Athletes’ Forum (IAF) in Lausanne, Switzerland, will be the biggest-ever gathering of athletes’ representatives, with over 350 attendees. For the first time, all 206 National Olympic Committee (NOC) ACs have been invited to the IAF, and they will join the International Federation ACs, the World Anti-Doping Agency AC, ACs of the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games, the NOC Continental Association ACs, the International Paralympic Committee’s Athlete Council and the World Olympians Association’s Executive Board. There will be two photo opportunities and one media conference call Photo Opportunities: Friday 12 April at The Olympic Museum Photographers and cameramen interested in covering the group photo at The Olympic Museum at 5.45 p.m. are requested to gather at the main entrance of The Olympic Museum (Quai d'Ouchy 1) at 5.15 p.m. Saturday 13 April at the SwissTech Convention Centre There will be a photocall at 8.50 a.m. before the official opening session. Photographers and cameramen will be allowed in the room for the first 30 minutes. As this is an accredited event, photographers and ENG camera operators who wish to attend the photocall are requested to send an email to [email protected] by Thursday 11 April. There will be no media working room. Media Conference Call: Media representatives will have the possibility to participate in a conference call with Kirsty Coventry, Chair of the IOC AC, and Danka Bartekova, Vice-Chair, on Monday 15 April at 2 p.m. After a brief overview of the IAF discussions, there will be opportunities for questions from the media. Please pre-register here as soon as possible to receive a dial-in number and a dedicated passcode to access the conference call. Attendance at the IAF will be restricted to members of Athletes’ Commission representatives. All the plenary sessions of the IAF on 13 and 14 April will be live-streamed on the IOC media YouTube channel.
