Get your still-discounted Pass today and catch up on all the exciting presentations. Day 3 started with macro genius Felix Zulauf and some of his very specific and eerily accurate predictions. Interviewed by Grant Williams of Things That Make You Go Hmmm..., Felix forecast a 10-year commodity boom, with a run-up for three to four years followed by a big decline and another five- to six-year upturn. He also predicted that the Fed “won’t be as relaxed six to nine months down the road because inflation will go way beyond what they had in mind.” To hear... what he foresees for the bond market and the US cold war with China why he believes we’re one step away from a new era of “serfdom” and how to make the necessary shift from a passive to an active investor ...get your SIC 2021 Pass today. But hurry, your 50% savings will disappear soon. Peter Boockvar, CIO at the Bleakley Advisory Group and John Mauldin’s go-to data person, believes that inflation will be here to stay for the next couple of years. However, he pointed out, we need to make a distinction between services inflation and goods inflation. Prices for services like movie and ballgame tickets “have been sticky,” said Boockvar. Goods inflation has seemed to slow but will resume its upward trend (we are already at a nine-year high). The Baltic Dry Index and others that measure shipping volumes indicate that transportation costs for goods have risen sharply. One SIC attendee commented in the live chat: “This is excellent—would have loved a chart-a-thon debate with David Rosenberg! Thank you.” Find out what Peter sees coming for oil, food, cars, and housing—get your SIC 2021 Pass now. We also saw market veterans Ed Yardeni, David Hay, and David Bahnsen discuss monetary policy, US debt, the bond market, the “entitlement avalanche,” MMT, and portfolio allocations in an animated session. All these sessions will be available in the next couple of days on video and audio. But there’s still more live programming to come, including Oaktree Capital co-chairman and investment legend Howard Marks... a fireside chat between David Bahnsen and Baron Funds guru Ron Baron... Cathie Wood of ARK Invest, one of the world’s most astute disruption technology investors... perpetual audience favorites Louis Gave and Mark Yusko... former Dallas Fed chief Richard Fisher... and many more.
