INDIAN WELLS, CALIF.: Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa announced that Omar Salinas will assume the role of executive chef and oversee the Palm Springs-area resort’s culinary operations, including at Lantana, its signature restaurant. Salinas has worked in multiple Michelin-starred dining establishments and now joins the resort to manage all aspects of its culinary operations and support event bookings for multimillion-dollar contracts. LAS VEGAS: Retro by Voltaggio, the new Las Vegas restaurant from television stars, judges, and celebrity chef icons Michael and Bryan Voltaggio, is hosting a summer prom series at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The series begins July 28 and will continue every last Saturday of the month until September. It will feature a dance floor, a live '80s cover band, a Jungle Juice punch bowl, themed photo opportunities, a prom king and queen coronation, and a prix fixe dinner from the brothers’ new menu. The seated dinner will feature a shared menu of Retro’s nostalgic dishes followed by a dessert buffet. Guests are encouraged to attend in their best '80s prom attire. Tickets start at $150 per person with extension options. Legacy Club in Circa Resort & Casino is calling all flappers and fellas to dust off their best evening attire and fine-tune their foxtrots for its Gatsby: A Speakeasy in the Sky 1920s-themed event on Aug. 4 from 8-11 p.m. Guests will have a roaring good time with specialty era-themed cocktails, with liquor sponsors including Diplomático Rum, Old Forester, and Woodford Reserve; a costume party pack; a live swing jazz band; and more. General admission tickets are priced at $150 per person plus LET tax. NEW YORK: Sephora announced the return of its SEPHORiA: House of Beauty for its fifth year. For the first time, the event will take place in a hybrid format with a ticketed event at Skylight at Essex Crossing in Lower Manhattan and a free global access virtual event in select markets. Set to take place Sept. 29-30, the event will feature innovative programming aimed at celebrating Sephora’s diverse beauty community and give attendees the opportunity to discover the latest trends and exclusive products through fun hands-on experiences and interactions with many of Sephora’s brands, beauty icons, and surprise guests.
