Bride trafficking along the China-Pakistan economic corridor In 2019, there was great outrage in Pakistan over cases of bride trafficking involving Pakistani women and girls and Chinese men. But later that year, more than half of the traffickers had been acquitted in Pakistani court, the others were given bail, and journalists were asked to curtail their reporting on the issue.
