Happy 4th of July from all of us at GMSA! We walked in to work this morning to see something that made us smile. One of our producers, who recently became an American citizen, was proudly displaying a large American flag. She asked us, “what should I do to celebrate my first Independence Day?” It was a trick question. She was already planning pool time and hamburgers! We’re so happy for her. Dr. Conrad Nightingale, county rabies control officer, said there have been seven confirmed cases, but he’s gotten up to a dozen other calls about animals that might have had rabies and could not be tested. The tragic story of Nicholas Plaza The story of a missing 5-year-old boy named Nicholas Plaza shocked San Antonio in 2001, as many hoped he would be found. He was last seen alive Oct. 23, 2001, at his home on the far West Side. An entire month went by before the boy was reported missing. SAPD: Man dies after being struck by multiple vehicles on I-37 A local man is dead after he was struck by several vehicles while walking along a highway late Wednesday night, San Antonio police said.
