| Friend- When I ran for Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon, I said that I am committed to doing everything I can every day to organize, fight, and win. The urgency of that call-to-action remains ever-present as we organize to fight back against the corrupt Trump administration and a Republican Party that seeks to undermine the U.S. Constitution on a daily basis. This Independence Day, I'm thinking about everything Republicans are doing to attack the rule of law. They're knowingly causing suffering for the most vulnerable among us, and paying for tax cuts for billionaires on the backs of working Americans. This will not stand. Everywhere, people are rising up to say "Hell No" to this administration and its callous, illegal policies. Marches are happening across the country today, and the next nationwide march will happen on July 17th. I’m also thinking about what we can accomplish when we elect Democrats. The state legislature just wrapped up another legislative session, and even in a challenging budget cycle caused by Trump’s reckless economic policies, legislative Democrats made key and critical investments. Our Democratic leaders also passed progressive policies like removing medical debt from credit reports, outlawing bump stocks, prohibiting massive energy users from passing off costs to consumers, and ending discriminatory book bans to protect the freedom to read in public schools. We at the Democratic Party of Oregon are committed to doing everything we can to support our Democratic elected officials as they use every tool at their disposal - executive orders, legislation, lawsuits, and their voices - to disrupt this administration's efforts, protect Oregonians, and keep our state moving forward. We're recruiting thousands of volunteers and organizing party leaders across our state to mobilize in support of our Democratic leaders and in opposition to the Republicans who are doing everything they can to harm our neighbors for their own gain. We're all-in on boldly meeting this moment, friend. As you gather with family and friends today, please know that the Democratic Party of Oregon stands with you. We will continue to organize, fight, and ultimately, we will win this fight for our future.
