What's Going on at the Marciano in LA?

Matt Stromberg digs deeper into the news that Gagosian will occupy a part of the Marciano Foundation’s old building in LA, and what that might mean for the community and the foundation’s tax-exempt status.In November of 2019, the foundation abruptly shut down after its employees attempted to unionize, citing “low attendance,” even if many found the excuse peculiar. In July, the museum reached an agreement with the former employees who argued that the foundation had violated the law when it laid them off.

Art Basel Miami Beach has canceled their December show and will host an online viewing room instead.French satirical paper Charlie Hebdo has reprinted the controversial cartoons of prophet Mohammad to coincide with this week’s trial for the alleged accomplices in the 2015 terrorist attack which killed 11 of its employees.
