Measuring Socio-economic Impacts in Africa

Corporate Citizenship has been working with Africa's largest sugar producer, Illovo Sugar, on groundbreaking socio-economic impact studies across their value chain in six African countries since 2014. Our impact reports provide a robust and engaging analysis to demonstrate how Illovo Sugar has contributed to economies and wider job creation as well as made a difference to communities and individual livelihoods. We are proud to see these publicly featured as part of the company's sustainability efforts.

London Event:
Game Changers: The Future of
Corporate Foundations

Research published by Corporate Citizenship in 2016 found that corporate foundations in different parts of the globe are moving away from the traditional models of philanthropy towards a more strategic approach to social impact, often in partnership with their founding company. This was especially true of foundations registered in the last 10 years. We identified new operating models and looked at how foundations around the world are innovating by leveraging their unique assets to solve some of society’s biggest challenges.

Corporate Citizenship Consultant Cathy Moscardini will present our latest research and we will be joined by special guest Professor Cathy Pharoah from the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy at Cass Business School. Cathy Pharoah co-authored the annual publication from the Association of Charitable Foundations (ACF) Giving Trends which includes the top
50 corporate foundations in the UK. Following the presentations Amanda Jordan, Founding Director of Corporate Citizenship and current Chair of ACF, will chair a panel discussion.

Date: 17th April 2018, 08:30-10:00am

Navigating the new
TCFD Recommendations

Last month, we collaborated with CDSB on a breakfast workshop ‘Getting to grips with climate risk’. With guest Caroline Hill of Landsec, we shared insights and perspectives with our corporate attendees on what implication the new TCFD Recommendations will have on UK company reporting.

Following the event, Corporate Citizenship is pleased to share our Briefing Note “Navigating TCFD”. This includes some key principles for action emerging from discussions in the workshop, together with our Three-Year Routemap for Action comprising a set of practical steps to implement the recommendations over a three-year period.
