Illinois confirms 25 coronavirus cases; legislature cancels session, U of I moves classes online

Man who died in campground fire identified

The Menard County coroner's office has identified the victim of a March 1 fire at the New Salem Property Owners Association (NSPOA) campground just northeast of Petersburg.

Census response period begins Thursday

Illinoisans can start completing the 2020 Census Thursday, the first chance of the more than four-month period in the country's once a decade tally.  The nine-question form will take about 10 minutes and for the first time will be available online at my2020census.gov, Illinois Department of Human Services Secretary Grace Hou said.
