Check for Food Allergies If Your Pet Has Itchy Skin

By Lynne

Bichon under blanket. If your pet has allergies and you find him/her scratching and licking and having "hot spots" remove one item at a time from their diet for at least 3 weeks. It took me almost a year to learn my Bichon was allergic to rice.

We adopted her; she was rescued 7 years ago. She loves to chase her girlfriend the cat around the house.

By Robyn

Six pack and yarn cat toy.I make lots of cat toys to hang on walls where I can see them play. I won't let them have string toys by themselves, as they can eat the string.

Dramamine for Car Sick Cat
My cat Numi does not like to ride in the car. In addition to objecting loudly (he is part Siamese) to turns, bumps, and higher speeds, he gets car sick. I spoke to our vet and she recommended Dramamine.
Homemade Mitts for Cleaning Dog's Paws
With the rainy weather in Seattle, I (and every other dog owner I know) really have a problem with mud and dirt coming in on my dog's paws after they are outside. Keeping a towel by the back door to wipe them off worked, but I didn't like it sitting there at the door.

Prognosis for a Puppy with Parvo
I just adopted a 35 day old Labrador. He was fine for three days and then started with vomiting and diarrhea. I took him to the vet who started him on oral antibiotics, but as it got worse he is also on IV fluids and injectable medication. Today is the fourth day and he has been diagnosed with parvovirus.
Keeping a Cat from Scratching a Wound on His Cheek
My cat Mig got into a fight with one of my other cats and got a sore on his neck. Then another on his cheek the next week. I cleaned both and put an Elizabethan collar on and the neck wound healed, but the cheek one has not because every time I take it off he scratches it!
My Rabbit Is Sneezing
Recently I got a lop rabbit and am still learning about them. For the past week or so she has been sneezing lots, not constantly, but every few minutes. She's eating, drinking, and hopping around like she normally would. She does have a bit of a white discharge in one eye.
House Training a Pit Bull Puppy
I've had my Pit Bull puppy for 3-4 months. He is now 6 months old and I have been working on the potty training, but he still pees in the house every day. And every night he will poop inside at least 2 times a week. How do I get him to stop going? He whines after he has used the bathroom.
