Mozilla fights for your privacy every day -- but as a nonprofit, we depend on your financial support to win these campaigns. Will you chip in today?

Creepy data collection benefits Big Tech - not users. Your donation today will help expand our campaigns to protect everyone's privacy.

Apple recently rolled out a game-changing privacy upgrade — one that we've been asking for since 2019. Today, we ask for your support to help win more victories like this in the future.

  Yes, I'll chip in

Dear Mozilla Supporter,

Back in 2019, Mozilla called on Apple to make a fundamental, privacy-protecting change for all users by regularly resetting the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iPhones.

Now, Apple has responded and is giving users more control of their privacy through a simple notification that just rolled out in the latest iPhone update. This change means that iPhone users won't have to dig through their phone's settings to reset their IDFA; instead, they'll be asked within each app if they want to be tracked or not. (Here's our opt-out how-to page.)

This is a huge win for consumers like you, and represents a big change in how digital advertising currently works. As a non-profit organization with global reach and a deep level of technical expertise, Mozilla has the freedom and independence to fight for more user privacy and control on the web these days. But we can't do that without your financial support, so we hope you’re able to make a contribution today.

  Yes, I'll donate

The opponents of Apple's change — advertisers and Facebook — reveal a lot about who benefitted from the old system. In fact, Facebook spent millions on a marketing campaign touting the benefits of personalized advertising for consumers. We take this fierce opposition from Big Tech as a sign that we're on the right track.

In the months ahead, we'll keep up the pressure on Apple to make sure that this is the sea change in surveillance advertising that it looks to be... and push forward to restrain the power of Big Tech to track all of us on the web. We hope you'll make a donation to the Mozilla Foundation today to help us keep fighting for you.

  Donate Today

Thanks in advance for your support! And if you have any questions about making a donation to Mozilla, please check out our donations FAQ page, or just drop us a note back at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Juan Barajas
Director, Partnerships and Fundraising
